• Run unit operations from a DCS or local panel, adjust setpoints, and trend critical loops.
• Walk the unit on round, take field readings, and catch leaks, vibration, and abnormal noise early.
• Execute startup, shutdown, and switchover procedures against written SOPs.
• Pull samples, line up product to spec tanks, and coordinate transfers with logistics.
• Issue and accept hot work, confined space, and lockout-tagout permits during their shift.
• Hand off the unit cleanly at shift change with an accurate log and outstanding work list.

• Walk the camera through a DCS screen and explain what you'd do if a critical loop went outside its high alarm.
• Show how you read a P&ID for the unit you last ran, and call out the safety interlocks.
• Demonstrate a lockout-tagout on a pump, isolation valves, blinds, energy verification.
• Explain a switchover or startup you've run, the steps in order and where things usually go wrong.
